The Member Marketing, Manager is primarily responsible for the development, execution, and day-to-day management of member lifecycle marketing initiatives that drive Aeroplan program engagement, surprise and delight members, and foster positive experiences within the Aeroplan program. This includes supporting the Manager, Member Marketing in the strategic planning, and implementation of complex, multi-faceted member engagement campaigns across various stages of the member lifecycle. This position requires strong cross functional team leadership, superior organizational skills, and attention to detail, as well as creative solutioning and data-driven thinking to deliver against objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and lead the execution of targeted Member Marketing initiatives across owned and paid channels (email, print, digital display, social, SEM etc.).

  • Facilitate internal intake process for campaign planning and execution to ensure lead time, resources, and channel support availability.

  • Manage end-to-end execution of projects - from drafting creative briefs through to obtaining all required stakeholder approvals, campaign deployment, and post campaign analysis.

  • Utilize data to determine campaign structures, targeting strategies and communication tactics.

  • Facilitate delivery of post campaign analysis of marketing programs and leverage key insights and learnings as a foundation for future strategies.

  • Monitor and track performance of existing member lifecycle communications and recommend strategies to optimize campaigns with a focus on test & learn and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders - marketing team, Product Owners, Analytics, Marketing Operations, eCommerce, Creative Studio, Legal, Channel Owners etc. to develop and deliver on plans to meet business objectives.

  • Support the ongoing optimization and use of Member Marketing printed collateral. Help to execute content and creative updates across Aeroplan member kits (ghost card kits, member replacement card kits etc.).

  • Support initiatives to enhance member experience and drive member engagement on aircanada.ca and Air Canada App.

  • Identify efficiencies and new ways of working that serve to improve the overall quality and delivery of Member Marketing campaigns.

  • Manage specific project budgets and administer finance processes.

  • Work with Call Centres to manage ad-hoc member requests and escalations related to the campaigns.

Qualifications


  • Solid understanding of below-the-line marketing communications with a focus on digital channels.

  • Experience working directly on customer lifecycle management communications highly desirable.

  • Ability to communicate in written and oral English required. French is an asset.

  • Ability to analyze data and translate results into marketing strategies.

  • Good creative evaluation skills and ideation capabilities.

  • Strong copy-editing skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Proactive self-starter, with strong project management skills and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

  • Superior administrative, prioritization and organization skills with the ability to work under pressure, in a fast paced, high-volume environment on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to report findings and support broader team to find effective solutions to drive marketing and communications strategies.

  • Strong research abilities and the ability to provide ongoing benchmarking of competitor loyalty products, services and communications.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or retailed field.

Experience:
  • 3+ years experience in marketing, preferably with experience in a similar field - loyalty, customer lifecycle programs, airline and/or travel industry.
  • French an asset.

Structure:
  • The Member Marketing Manager position sits within the Promotional Marketing team, reporting to the Manager, Member Marketing.
  • Does not have any direct reports.
